[NC10]Any Particular "BRAND" Of Memory Choice Preference?

Since Newegg will deliver my netbook Tuesday, I am losing my mind deciding which BRAND of memory may be best to upgrade it to 2 GIG 1st day? Any opinions? I notice they have a free ship AND lowered price on:
    Corsair Memory, Inc.
    Item#:N82E16820145172

And I just have no idea on to go cheap or expensive or???

First off, depending on what you are doing, you may not need 2 gigs. Unless you are sure you will need it, you may want to wait and hold out to see if you need it or not.

As for brands, my personal favorite is mushkin, but corsair, ocz, and gskill (and others, this is all just top of my head here) get GREAT reviews bordering on a cult following.

The border between "cheap" and "expensive" on these things are about 5 bucks, and I would say it is worth it. That said, an nc10 is not a powerhouse here, so top cusp ram may be a bit overkill. Never know when the dimm may go into another laptop though... ^^

I think I got the 667 DIMM from Corsair.

I was under the impression that extra ram is never a bad thing. Not to mention, I think it was $26 for the 2gb

I ordered the OCZ from Amazon.com It is $24.99, and has a $10 rebate.

I went for corsair too. And like someone says above - I'm not sure 2gb makes a big difference (it will depend what you do) but then the 2gb chips are very reasonable (check out amazon.com, amazon.co.uk, newegg, dabs, etc) so I don't think it is prohibitively costly either.

I tend to use Micron (Crucial) when I need to buy RAM, it has a lifetime warranty and guaranteed compatibility if you order from Crucial.

I went for the Crucial 2GB DDR2 667MHz module from eBuyer here in the UK.

I've always found Crucial memory to be reliable.

In terms of speed; to be honest, the brand of the RAM can often have very little effect on the operational speed of the RAM. Benchmarking of desktops systems with high quality, super-fast RAM, can often show little speed gains over cheap RAM; however, I would generally go for a brand name such as OCZ, Corsair, Crucial, etc. However, RAM is so cheap that it negates paying extra for a lifetime guarantee, etc. In general RAM will last longer than the device it is installed into.

I bought Kingston RAM as it was the only brand available from the online store I was buying a few items from. It's all pretty much of a muchness to be honest, as there isn't going to be much difference between the brands.
